Chicken Breast with Cream Cheese and Garlic

Good for the protain phase this dish is fairly quick and easy to prepare.

Chicken breast with cream cheese and garlic spice

Ingredients

  • Chicken breast
  • 1-2 spoons of cream cheese (like Philladelphia extra light)
  • Garlic spice
  • Oregano

Instructions

Cut a pocket in the breast – you can either do it from the side or from the top.  The side cut does tend to leak more cheese and you need thicker chicken breast for it to work better.

Chicken breast with "pockets"

Stuff the chicken with 1 or 2 spoons of cream cheese.

Spread tin foil on a baking tray and dust the middle with garlic spice. Next put the chicken on the spice and add some more garlic on top as well as some oregano.

Cover the meat with the tin foil to create a bag and put it in the oven for 30 minutes at 150C. Afterwards open the foil and let it brown for another 10-15 minutes at 180C.

I made some of these this evening. I used turkey breast fillets as we had some in the fridge.

I used a few cocktail sticks to hold the fillets together. They were a bit thin and so the cheese was wrapped up rather than held in a pocket.

Very tasty and juicy. The foil works well.

    Cheers,
    Doug

Glad you liked them :) I found the juiciness especially nice after all the grilled meat being quite dried out….

I tried the oat biscuits last week. I did the attack phase for 9 days and now I am on cruise phase with 1 day PP and the next PV. Anyway so I tried the chicken cheese with garlic. I was scared because I am not so good at cooking chicken. I used low fat laughing cow cheese and it was so great. I will be having again soon.
